The excitement never ends...

Another week full of exciting things happening in K2!
First of all, we had Mr Mockett, our Primary School Art Teacher coming in on Monday and teaching us how to make small illustrations bigger by using artistic methods. We loved it and created our own designs using the strategies we were taught.

We met our 6th grade Buddies when they came to read us a story on Tuesday, and then on Thursday the accompanied us to listen and watch the amazing Scott Hammell. Scott Hammell is a four-time Guinness World Record holder. Whether it’s magic, escape artistry, stunts, hypnosis or speaking, his goal is to entertain and inspire.
He taught us more about finding our passion and making it happen. You might want to look at his website or online version of his biography: www.scotthammell.com/biography.html

On Thursday morning we met our boarder buddy, Brenna Ross. Brenna is from Australia, and her parents are currently working in Jacarta. Brenna is a 12th grader, but does not mind to make time for us in her busy final year of school schedule. We are so happy to have Brenna as our buddy, and the students are already  in love with her!

The fourth annual quiz night in aid of Kuma Cambodia (the K2 Global Concern) will take place on Saturday 5th October…hosted by yours truly! As the event has been sold out, we are opening the auction to people throughout the school community. Thanks to the generosity of some incredible sponsors, we have fantastic prizes on offer. Please visit the auction section of the Kuma website to bid and support this wonderful initiative and feel free to spread the word. http://kumacambodia.org/?page_id=14

And of course we continue to work and learn hard during our reading workshop, writing workshop and math counting. Our challenge next week is to design and build something  from magic materials that will float across the swimming pool and transport our class pets, Muffy and Cupcake.  This challenge is to demonstrate our understanding of Magic Materials, and how some materials an float and others will sink.  Please help us to bring in recycled articles that we might be able to use for our challenge.

Wow, we are busy! Looking forward to a great week ahead!

REMEMBER TO SEND IN RECYCLED MATERIALS FOR OUR SWIMMING POOL CHALLENGE.
